Your Day Out

FAQs

  • Where do we launch from?

We typically operate from Hidden Harbor Marina Located at 7700 Tamiami Trail, Sarasota Florida, 34231. We can also arrange alternative and custom pickups as available, time and cost consideration may be required depending on circumstances.

  • Can we have more than 6 people on a charter?

Yes, we have the ability to do large group charters with a USCG Demise Charter agreement (bareboat agreement) that has you sign for ownership of the vessel and your choice of crew, with our boat options we can handle parties of nearly any size and serve corporate outings as well.

  • How early should we arrive for our charter?

15 mins early is generallly plenty unless you are a large group we reccomend 20 mins to facilitate everyone, their gear and paperwork. We will send out parking and boat meetup instructions and graphics both in your confirmation and generally the day before via the captain by phone.

  • Is there a bathroom onboard?

All of our boats have an option for a porta potty to be included upon request, additionally we usually work very near publicly available restrooms on these boats. Our Luxury line boats do have a head (Boat Bathroom) onboard, refer to captain for availability.

  • Can we eat and drink (alcohol) on the boat?

Yes and yes, both are encouraged but â€‹please make your time spent on the boat your pre-game and not the main event. We reserve the right to terminate the charter at any time and are responsible for you safety.

  • What all does the fee cover?

Captain's fees, fuel, a cooler with ice, boat, and all safety gear are included in the trip cost!

  • Is Smoking Allowed?

Smoking has been banned on most area beaches and our vessels are federally regulated and drug free.

  • What is a customary tip?

If your Captain and day met your expectations, a tip is great way to say thanks! We typically see 18% - 20% gratuities. We strongly believe tips are earned and will never charge them in advance! Tips stay with your crew entirely and can be cash, venmo, included in your final payout or many other ways!

  • Will there be other people on the boat?

All of our trips are private, it will be you and your group only.

  • Do you have a refund policy?

Yes, we do have a very generous refund policy and we are very flexible. We frequently are happy to work with customers with their situations at hand. For weather we will re-schedule as necessary if possible, and refund if it is not. We do not require full payment up front and trips are 100% refundable for weather or maintenance issues. Additionally they are cancelable up to 72 hour out for full refund of any deposits or funds paid.

  • Bring your pups!

All Doggos welcome, While it does have an impact on our specific plans as some locations they are not allowed, we have some great days available with our best friends!

  • Will I be required to wear a life jacket on the boat?

Only children appearing 6 and under need to wear a life jacket at all times per U.S. Coast Gaurd regulations. For children under 5, life vests/floatation devices need to be provided by the guests.  Should you like one for yourself, we of course have them on board, and available upon request.

  • What type of sunscreen should I bring?

The sun is strong in Florida and we recommend an SPF 30 or higher to protect your skin.  When choosing your sunscreen, we do respectfuilly ask that you do not bring spray sunscreen or sunscreen with tanning, glitter/shimmer or bronzing agents. This will stain our boat and the Captain will ask you not to use it. Sunscreen will transfer to the boat seats, so we will also ask that if you are covered in sunscreen, to please place a towel between your skin and the boat seats. Thank you kindly!

  • Do you offer fishing on your boats?

Unfortunately we no longer offer fishing trips.

  • Is there a possibility I will get sea sick?

We do most of our boating in the intracoastal waterways where we are very well protected from chop and higher seas. The intracoastal is generally calm with very comfortable, and lake flat conditions are frequently seen. If you tend to get a little woozy on a boat, we recommend taking an over the counter medication before your boat charter.  We do not provide this type of medication on the boats.

  • What if I am a weak swimmer?

Not to worry but please do make the captain aware and we are happy to accomodate as needed.

  • Will we see wildlife like dolphins, manatees, and birds?

We typically see Bottlenose Dolphins and fairly frequently see manatees as well as various bird species on most of our boat charters. Though we cannot guarantee we will see them, (they are after all, wild animals), we do know where they like to hang out. If you would like to seek them out specifically, be sure to let your captain know.
